CLUB INFORMATION

Belle-City Kennel Club, Inc has been part of Belleville's history since 1964.  Current membership is (as of July 2008) 97 adult members, four associate members and two junior members, representing a multitude of breeds of purebred dogs.  Ownership of a purebred dog is not a requirement for membership.

Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30PM in our training building located at 2448 Eastview Drive, Belleville, IL.  Our meetings are open to the public; we have speakers several times during the year.  Puppy, conformation and obedience classes are usually available.  For the more active dog and owner, agility and tracking classes are also usually available.  Classes are open to all dogs; fees vary.

Each year we host two all-breed conformation shows in early March and two obedience and rally trials in mid January.  These events are licensed by the American Kennel Club.

We participate in the Santa Claus parade.  Members with Therapy Dogs visit nursing homes and schools during the year.  Several members are active in the 4-H program.

Canine Good Citizen testing is done throughout the year.  Flyers are posted with veterinarians with the dates for testing.
